404 Parts Return, Cancellation, and Warranty Policy

At 404 Parts, your satisfaction is our priority. To ensure proper fitment and avoid any issues, we highly recommend using our free VIN Check Guarantee at checkout. Simply provide your VIN, and our OEM parts professionals will verify fitment before processing your order. For some items, a VIN is required to process the order. If not provided, we will reach out to request this information.


Returns

We strive to ensure customer satisfaction, but all returns must adhere to the following guidelines. Please note that if you do not provide a VIN at checkout, returns will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Our return policy allows returns within 30 calendar days of purchase. To request a return, email us at returns@404Parts.com with the "FIRST CONTACT" information request filled out at the bottom of this policy . All returns must meet the following conditions to qualify for a refund:

  • New, Resalable Condition: Items must be in their original, unused condition, including all packaging (boxes or bags) and components intact.
  • OEM Factory-Sealed Parts: Items sealed in factory boxes or bags must not be opened. Bagged items cannot be returned if the bag has been opened.

Non-Returnable Items

Certain products are not eligible for return due to their nature, customization, or factory packaging requirements. These include:

  • Electrical and Electronic Components (anything requiring wiring or power)
  • Custom-Painted or Pre-Painted/Finished OEM Products
  • Vinyl, Adhesive, Decal, or Stripe Kits
  • Oversized Items (such as grilles, floor coverings, and large accessories)
  • Special-Order, Clearance, or Discontinued Products
  • Transmission-Related Parts, Vehicle Covers, and Cargo Accessories
  • Gift Cards and Digital Items

Because of strict manufacturer and paint-process standards, these products cannot be restocked once shipped. If you are unsure whether your item qualifies, contact us before placing your order or starting a return. We are happy to help confirm eligibility.


Refunds and Restocking Fees

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

Returns may incur a 10–20% restocking fee, depending on compliance with return guidelines. RMA may be opened with the minimum restocking fee, however 404 Parts reserves the right to adjust this fee after inspection if the returned item does not meet the required conditions or packaging standards.


Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. 404 Parts will provide a prepaid, insured return label as part of your RMA process for convenience. The cost of postage and insurance will be deducted from your refund, with the exact amount listed in your RMA confirmation email.

Insurance covers lost packages only. Customers are responsible for proper packaging and protection of items to prevent damage during transit.

Cancellations

We apply a 5% cancellation fee if your order payment has already been processed. This fee covers the costs incurred by processing the payment.

To avoid this charge, please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your order. We understand cancellations happen and will do our best to assist you without applying this fee whenever possible.


Warranties

OEM Parts Warranty

Many OEM products come with a manufacturer’s warranty. For GM parts, you can review warranty details at www.gmparts.com/warranty. While warranty claims are ultimately directed to and decided by the manufacturer at their sole discretion, 404 Parts is here to assist you throughout the process.

To initiate a warranty claim, you must email the appropriate address listed at the bottom of this page with the First Contact Checklist completed in full. You must also include the physical part in question when requested. Once we receive your initial information, we will guide you through the required steps and coordinate with the manufacturer to ensure your claim is properly submitted and processed.


Paint & Workmanship Warranty

Custom-painted products are covered by a 12-month limited warranty for paint defects and workmanship issues. This coverage applies only to the original purchaser and vehicle and requires VIN verification at checkout.

Damage caused by tools, chemicals, road debris, improper installation, or physical wear is not covered. This warranty does not apply to misuse, alterations, or environmental exposure beyond normal use. Determination of cause is made solely by 404 Parts, not the customer. We are here to help within reason and will review each case fairly based on the evidence provided.

Aftermarket Electronics Warranty

Aftermarket electronic components are covered by a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase, provided they have not been physically damaged, modified, or improperly installed.

Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser and vehicle. Determination of cause is made solely by 404 Parts, not the customer. We aim to help within reason and will review each case fairly based on the details and photos provided.

VIN Requirement (Applies to All Warranties)

A valid Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) must be provided at the time of order for 404 Parts to assist with any warranty claim, including OEM, paint, and electronic components.

If a VIN is not on file, warranty support cannot be offered under any circumstance. When contacting us regarding a warranty concern, you must also include a photo of the vehicle’s VIN placard, located on the door jamb or windshield, not just a typed or handwritten VIN. This step verifies ownership, confirms the parts match the original vehicle, and ensures all claims are handled accurately and fairly.


Warranty Limitations (Applies to All Warranties)

All warranty claims, regardless of type, are eligible for replacement only. Refunds are not provided under warranty coverage.

Determinations regarding cause, eligibility, or outcome are made solely by 404 Parts based on inspection results and supporting documentation.

First Contact Checklist (Required for All Warranty or Return Requests)

Please include the following information in your initial email:

  • Name
  • Original Order Number
  • Order Date
  • Complaint for Warranty or Return / Reason for RMA Request
  • Minimum of 3 Photos of the Product (even if unopened; attach small-format images for quick review)
  • Photo of the Vehicle’s VIN Placard (located on the door jamb or windshield)
