Earlier model GM trucks came with a factory phone charging pad that didn't allow many longer phones to sit correctly overtop the phone charger causing battery issues.
While this liner is not any wider, the longer charging surface allows longer phones to sit more efficiently overtop of the charger assembly. While some phones may be too wide, they will still charge even on a slight angle if too large. This is only the liner, not the charger.
